Hines expands Asia platform with new value-add strategy
Hines Asia Real Estate Partners (Harep) has been launched by Real estate investment, development and property manager Hines, as a closed-ended fund focused on providing new value-add investment opportunities across Asia. In doing so, the firm has further extended its investor platform in the region.
Hines Global Chief Investment Officer, David Steinbach, said of the addition “This new value-add strategy in Asia rounds out our suite of open-ended core-plus and closed-ended value-add strategies globally, enabling us to meet investor needs across geographies and the risk spectrum.”
Simultaneously, the firm announced the appointment of Caleb Shen as Senior Managing Director for Harep. Shen joins Hines from GLP Capital Partners, where he was Head of Asia Portfolio and Asset Management. He will report directly to Chiang Ling Ng, Hines’ Chief Investment Officer for Asia.
Launched in 2021, Hines Asia Property Partners (HAPP) is the firm’s flagship, multi-sector, core-plus open-ended fund. To date, it has raised over US$1.3 billion ($1.8 billion) from 15 global investors.
