Weave Living steps up expansion in Japan and acquires nine assets in Tokyo
Weave Living, a Hong Kong-based integrated rental accommodation provider, has embarked on its next expansion phase by acquiring nine multi-family residential properties in prime locations in Tokyo, Japan, totalling 352 units. The expansion follows the launch of a wholly-owned subsidiary in Japan, and the appointment of Daisuke Noguchi – a veteran in the industry formerly head of acquisitions at Allianz Real Estate – as Japan country head in April 2023.
Since then, Weave’s Tokyo office has grown to 12 professionals specialising in acquisitions, development, asset management, leasing and operations. The first three properties acquired, located in Waseda, Monzennakacho, and Higashi-koenji, were opened on Nov 3.

Japan is Weave Living’s third market in Asia, following their expansion in Hong Kong and Singapore. The company plans on rapidly scaling up its presence in Tokyo and Osaka with further acquisitions in the following months. According to Weave’s founder and group CEO, Sachin Doshi, the aim is for Japan’s AUM – asset under management – to total over US$1.5 billion, or one-third of the group’s asset base, by 2025.
As Weave continues to expand, the company is setting its sights beyond Japan. It has been revealed that they are exploring other markets in the region, including Malaysia and Thailand. It is clear that Weave is intent on establishing itself as a leading player in integrated rental accommodation in Asia.
