Real estate agency Mindlink Groups to acquire Century 21 Singapore

Mindlink Groups, a Singapore-based real estate agency founded by key executive officer Chow Yi Tong in 2001, is set to merge with Century 21 Singapore. The merger, which is subject to final approval from Century 21 Real Estate pending, will allow for a combined sales force of 600 salespersons.

Century 21 Singapore is the local franchiser of the Century 21 brand established in 1998 which is owned by the US-based parent company Century 21 Real Estate. Century 21 Real Estate is a subsidiary of the New York-listed Anywhere Real Estate which also are the owners of famous real estate brands such as Sotheby’s International Realty, ERA Real Estate, Coldwell Banker, and Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate.

The merger will see Chow Yi Tong take up the role of Group Chairman, overseeing the combined entity, with 16 franchisees, over 500 members and an additional 100 salespersons from Mindlink Groups.

The move to combine forces comes as a way for both large organisations to leverage on each other’s strengths to grow even further, with the aim to expand operations across 85 countries and territories across the world. It is expected to be beneficial for both parties as they are familiar with the Singaporean market, while also having a global network.

The winning bid of $956 million attempts to capture the competitive market. Marina Gardens Residences looks to add greater value to the nearby area, providing a convenient lifestyle to its future residents.

Given the long-established history of both real estate firms and the unprecedented strength gained by both parties, this merger underscores the potential that the newly formed entity has to become a powerhouse in the real estate industry.
