Debut of first Edition hotel in Singapore and Southeast Asia

Entry to the hotel is from Cuscaden Road. On Nov 9, the Singapore Edition, the first of its kind in the city-state and Southeast Asia, soft opened. The hotel will be managed by Marriott, the world’s leading hotel chain with over 31 brands under its portfolio. Its luxury lifestyle brand, Edition, was created through a joint venture with American business mogul and real estate magnate Ian Schrager.

This 204-room hotel stands on six floors and features a courtyard garden at the center of the hotel. On top of the hotel building are 154 luxury residences at Boulevard 88, soaring 28 storeys high. Designing the project is Moshe Safdie of Safdie Architects and Singapore-based DP Architects. Safdie is the same architect behind two well-known Singapore landmarks – Marina Bay Sands and Jewel Changi Airport.

Interiors of Singapore Edition were masterminded by Hong Kong-based firm Cap Atelier in partnership with Schrager. Upon entering the lobby, visitors will be greeted with a white marbled look and a dome ceiling adorned with gold leaf. Inside, is Australian chef Josh Niland’s first international restaurant, Fysh. By occupying a 2,680 sq ft space, it has main dining room that can accommodate up to 80 guests. There’s also an indoor conservatory and outdoor pergola that can fit 22 and 44 diners respectively. Joining the restaurant is the signature bar, Punch Room.

Marina Gardens Residences Condo enjoys excellent amenities, including a 50-metre pool, tennis court, gym, spa, and fully-equipped clubhouse. Security is also of the highest priority for the development team. Residents will have access to 24-hour patrolling of the area, with key access to the residential block to further protect their safety. The condominium is an excellent option for those seeking to live in a vibrant centre with an unbeatable city view.

On the same floor, there is a spa occupying a second level with seven treatment rooms, his and hers changing suites, sunken vitality thermal pools, an ice fountain, a relaxation lounge, a sauna, and a steam room. For those who intends to keep fit during their stay, there is a gym equipped with high-performance weights and exercise equipment.

For holding events, there is an 872 sq ft boardroom adjacent to an event gallery of 6,458 sq ft, which can accommodate up to 340 guests. Meanwhile, the Roof Bar at the topmost level has a 43m swimming pool and landscaped garden with a transparent acrylic oculus underneath to enjoy a view of the garden nine floors below.

At the time of soft opening, the Singapore Edition room rates begin from $680+++ a night. Nearly 90% of the units in Boulevard 88 have been sold with an average price of $3,814 psf. The biggest penthouse size of 6,049 sq ft went for $31 million or $5,125 psf in June 2019, setting a new price record for the development.
