EdgeProp announces winners of EdgeProp Excellence Awards 2023; Sustainable Spaces the theme year

EdgeProp Singapore announces the winners of its 7th Annual EdgeProp Excellence Awards, held at Pan Pacific Orchard with the theme of ‘Sustainable Spaces’. City Developments, GuocoLand, and UOL Group emerged as major winners with more than seven awards each. Guests-of-Honour Mr Desmond Lee, Minister for National Development & Minister-in-charge of Social Services Integration, presented the Sustainability Excellence Awards.

At a gala luncheon and dinner on October 6th, EdgeProp Singapore announced the winners of its 7th Annual EdgeProp Excellence Awards. Held at the newly-opened Pan Pacific Orchard, the prestigious event recognises and celebrates outstanding property developers and their projects that set a benchmark of excellence in the Singaporean real estate industry.

The Marina Gardens Residences will span a total area of approximately 735,000 sq ft and when completed, will comprise of units, a hotel, commercial and retail elements, and a gross floor area of 1.8 million sq ft. The design creates natural spaces and meandering pathways that spiral down from the highest levels of the development, connecting people to the city. The project is estimated to be completed by 2025.

This year’s theme was ‘Sustainable Spaces’, underlining EdgeProp Singapore’s efforts towards reaching Singapore’s net-zero emissions target by 2050 as well as delivering affordable and sufficient housing to Singaporeans. Guests of Honour included Mr Desmond Lee, Minister for National Development & Minister-in-charge of Social Services Integration, who presented the Sustainability Excellence Awards.

220 guests, including key VIPs in the real estate industry, gathered to celebrate the success of many projects and the collective effort behind them. The evening was sponsored by Geberit Southeast Asia, V-Zug Singapore, Mitsubishi Electric Asia Pacific, Official Knowledge Partners KPMG Singapore and CPG Corporation, and Supporting Partners Cosentino and Surface iD Studio.

The esteemed judges of EPEA 2022 included Angela Lim, Co-founder of SuMisura; Desmond Sim, CEO of Edmund Tie & Company; Sky Seah, Academic Director at National University of Singapore; Tang Kok Thye, Associate Partner of ADDP Architects LLP; Yvonne Tan, Director of DP Green; and EdgeProp Singapore’s CEO Bernard Tong. The scoring methodology used to evaluate the nominees was developed by CPG Corporation, drawing elements from the Building and Construction Authority’s Green Mark Certification Scheme.

City Developments, GuocoLand and UOL Group were the major winners of the night, with the former two clinching more than seven awards each. AMO Residence and Lentor Modern also clinched all seven Excellence awards in the Uncompleted Residential category.

The celebrations were held in two parts, with a luncheon recognising the top-performing real estate agents, and a dinner celebrating the exceptional property developers. 100 guests, including real estate agents, attended the luncheon, while the dinner was graced by Minister Desmond Lee.

CEO Bernard Tong spoke about the importance of embracing innovation and technology for firms to succeed. He said, “Looking ahead, we’re in the midst of a big shake-up across various sectors, including real estate, all thanks to the constant progress in technology. Adaptability, embracement of innovation and technology is the compass guiding firms to excel in this modern era.”

Minister Desmond Lee then congratulated the winners saying, “Today, we celebrate the success of many outstanding projects, and the collective effort by all to bring our real estate industry to greater heights. These projects are not just developments or assets, but they are the places that many of us proudly call home.”

In closing, CEO Bernard Tong said, “As we look towards the future, we do so with anticipation for the new heights you will reach and the new boundaries you will break next year.”
